GADWA

Gainsborough & District Wildfowling Association

About GADWA

At the present the Association shoots the marsh at Gainsborough, and has carried out several phases of improvement works with the help of BASC & the Environment Agency, who we rent the land off. We also shoot some 125 acres of agricultural land at Blyton, which we rent from the Thonock Estate. We also have access to shooting on the South Bank of the River Humber under the permit scheme operated by the South Humber Area Joint Council, of which we are members.

Pigeon shooting has always played a part in the Association’s activities. This has continued, with us visiting Grimsthorpe Estate and more recently Scarm Park at Selby.

GADWA website!

This website is a new club venture and is still in its early stages of development. In time it is hoped that the site will help to showcase what the club is, it's interests, activities and the contribution it makes to both the local habitat and wider environment.

The site also has links to further information about wildfowling, tides and weather as well as books and video materials that may be of interest to those thinking about taking up wildfowling.

With pages for Calendar events and member-only downloads, the site may also assist with general club communication and administration. There is the potential for a web-store but this will probably be much later on.
